Hugh Padgham is among the most successful music producers in contemporary rock and pop history, best known for his extended collaborations with Phil Collins, Sting, Genesis, and The Police. In 2019, the MPG Awards honored Hugh with the Outstanding Contribution to UK Music gong, recognizing his incredible career to date.
Recently, Hugh co-produced, engineered, and mixed the latest album by Binker and Moses, Feeding the Machine (#1 on Mojo Magazine’s Best Jazz Albums of 2022), mixed Binker Golding, Dream Like A Dogwood Wild Boy, co-produced, recorded and mixed Graham Costello’s Second Lives, and mixed an upcoming release for Dwight Trible.
Padgham’s career began during the early ’80s, at which time he served as a recording engineer on high-profile projects including Peter Gabriel‘s third solo LP (“I Don’t Remember,” “Biko” and “Games Without Frontiers”), XTC‘s Black Sea, and Yes‘ Drama. In 1981, Padgham produced and mixed The Police‘s 3x platinum Ghost In The Machine (“Spirits in the Material World,” “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” and “Invisible Sun”), Phil Collins‘ 5x platinum Face Value (“In The Air Tonight” and “I Missed Again”), and recorded Genesis‘ 2x platinum Abacab (“No Reply at All”, “Abacab,” “Me and Sarah Jane” and “Man on the Corner”) as well.
