Biography

Born Luca Bani, Jazztronic received his nickname from the fusion of two main concepts: the writing freedom of jazz fused with electronic sounds and arrangements. Luca was raised in Florence, Italy, where he learned how to play piano at the age of eight. Then he started to play in lot of local bands as a teenager. Years and years on stage mainly as a hobbyst: nothing sensational to remember in the annals. But it is in summer 2019 that Jazztronic takes shape, after the suggestion of the old partner Stefano Corrado, a well-known local saxophonist: “why not try to produce something by yourself?” The challenge was met. With a digital DAW and a bunch of plugins, loops and vocal samples, Jazztronic started his first tracks more for a live scope rather than a serious studio pursuit. Following some live events with positive feedbacks, Jazztronic sent out some demos. Mr Muner from MDivision records was the one that replied “ok we can make it”. Given some adjustments and advises, Jazztronic took the matter head on, composing, producing and improving its musical world. The road was marked, the hunting grounds were dance and lounge music. Each of his reminiscences finds outlet in his own productions: pop, funk, lounge, splashes of jazz and brushstrokes of world music. Jazztronic released his first EP, Move on, at the beginning of 2020. The EP reached number 80 on Beatport: not a bad start for a perfect stranger for digital stores… Then followed Moods, more based on lounge and jazzy sonorities. Surpassing his own expectations, many tracks from both EPs were requested to appear on about 15 compilations; again, not a bad goal for a typically homemade production. The compositional vein goes on impetuous, and like a new butterflyes catcher, Jazztronic takes creative cues from any corner of its musical silos. He doesn’t hide his admiration for the nu-disco grooves, but he is also determined to refine a new dance language. His music tries to differs from both the cool surface textures of ambient music and the hedonistic world of house music. Waiting the next challenge, Jazztronic is now determined to push its limits.
