Rob Mounsey is an Emmy-winning composer, arranger, producer, and pianist who has worked on various projects with an incredible array of superstar artists. These include James Taylor (Grammy-nominated album Before This World), Brett Eldredge (Glow), Rihanna (“Unfaithful”), Mary J. Blige, Usher, Steely Dan (Gaucho), Madonna “Crazy For You”, Aaron Neville (Nature Boy), Donald Fagen (Nightfly), Paul Simon’s “You Can Call Me Al,” Billy Joel, Aretha Franklin, Brian Wilson’s “Kokomo”, Eric Clapton, Diana Krall, Chaka Khan, Steve Winwood, and many others. Rob has also collaborated with legendary producers as Phil Ramone, Tommy LiPuma, Russ Titelman, Arif Mardin, Joel Dorn, Ashford and Simpson, and Ivan Lins.

Rob most recently arranged Shirley Bassey’s farewell album for Decca UK, arranged Michael Ball’s #1 UK release (Coming Home to You), and arranged Michael Ball and Alfie Boe’s (Back Together) and (Together Again), both #1 UK releases.

In the live arena, Rob enjoyed six years as the Music Director for Tony Award Winner Idina Menzel (Wicked, Rent, Glee), for which he created all the orchestral arrangements and performed as her pianist.

Rob produced five songs on the hit Mike Nichols film, Working Girl, including the Oscar-winning Best Original Song, “Let the River Run,” arranged the song “Century’s End” from the film Bright Lights, Big City (with Donald Fagen), arranged the original soundtrack for the film, For the Love of the Game, scored the Oscar-winning documentary Big Mama, and composed original music for the HBO hit, Sex and the City.
