Cadillac James born James R. Cotton January 25, a native of Macon Ga. The 15th Child of 16 to the Late Mr. Floyd Cotton Sr. & Mrs. Helen King Cotton. He attended elementary in Bibb County Schools. Coming from a talented, gifted & musical background his family musical roots were among the gospel platform. Four of his older brothers The Cotton Brothers recorded professionally on the Songbird Peacock Label out of Houston TX.

The younger siblings who took after their brothers footsteps, they became the Cotton Brothers number 2. Cadillac Played the lead guitar the he later played the bass. In 1973 Cadillac's involvement with a local church where he started attending, is where he discovered that he had the gift to play the piano and organ. In 1982 Cadillac and his family moved to Oakland CA, while living in Oakland he began to broaden his writing abilities in R&B, Jazz, and Country Music.
