Mark Cyrus has been a professional audio engineer and producer since 1990 with formal Audio and Acoustics engineering training from the London School of Audio engineering and the University of North London. He has worked extensively in the UK as a music producer and song writer having publishing deals with Peer Music UK, Sony/BMG, Warner Chapell Music and Zomba Music since leaving college. Upon returning to St. Vincent in the year 2000 he worked to build his professional recording studio. And also went on to acoustically fit many studio/audio projects including the National Broadcasting Corp Radio 705 studios, The National Performance theatre Peace Memorial Hall, The Master Room Studios, The SVG National Archive Studio .
In the early 2000’s Mark was the coordinator of The St.Vincent International Blues and Rhythm Festival. Including booking all acts and on the ground logistic operations of the festival on behalf of The Ministry Of Tourism and Culture and sat on the advisory committee for the establishment of the Copyright act for St.Vincent and The Grenadines .In 2009 to 2010 he also sat on the steering committee for the establishment of ECCO (The Eastern Caribbean Copyright Organisation) In St.Vincent and The Grenadines.
Mark is the CEO of Master Room Studio and Masterroom Music .Master Room produces and writes songs for local, regional and international consumption. The early days of the studio concentrated on the production and writing of songs for the Carnival market locally and regionally. After the 3rd year they expanded to the UK and North America with a UK top 40 selling song “Nookie – Jamesy P . In recent years he has concentrated on song writing and artist development area with product being made for international market consumption in the CARIBBEAN POP/EDM/R&B/HIP HOP and reggae genres. With numerous record and sync deals secured for new caribbean artists. Mark is currently the Vice President of the St.Vincent Association of Authors Writers and Producers and President of the Professional Music Producers Association (PMP) in St.Vincent.
In recent years Mark co-ordinated and took part in over 14 song writing and production camps held regionally and internationally. This opportunity has allowed Mark to work with numerous Internationally established song writers, producers, labels and publishers and so expanded his reach to new Markets.Which also involved the showcasing of new talent at the end of each camp.
In the past year 2 years he has concentrated heavily on developing a writing team of young talented friends in the Caribbean, Holland And UK through hi spublishing company Masterroom Music. Securing deals in 2019 with Three Six Zero Records/ Sony Entertainment ( Label and management for Will Smith and Family and also Calvin Harris) for unknown Trinidad artist Osei the Seventh. Reaching top 20 status in Poland with new artist Nicki Pierre from St.vincent Masterroom Music is a 360 modelled company encompassing music production, publishing artist development and song writing.
