His vast discography has grown to over 800 albums for a wide range of notable artists spanning over all genres, including Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Dave Matthews Band, Bjork, Carrie Underwood, Beck, Shakira, Justin Timberlake, Keith Urban and many more.
Serban’s exceptional talent can be shown by his many accolades. Most notably, he has been nominated 25 times for a GRAMMY, winning sixteen. Serban has also taken home 3 Latin GRAMMY’s. His first win, in 2004, was for his contributions to Justin Timberlake’s Justified, the pop-singer’s first studio attempt as a solo artist. At the 2019 Grammy Awards Serban took home 2 Grammys for mixing Colors by Beck, one for Best Alternative Music Album and one for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. He also mixed “Butterflies” and “High Horse” off of Kacey Musgrave’s album Golden Hour, which won 4 awards at the 2019 Grammy Awards.
As of April 2020, Ghenea had mixed over 184 #1 singles and albums, including 51 Billboard Hot 100 #1s with hits for The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Pink, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Halsey, Imagine Dragons, Jonas Brothers, Ellie Goulding, Maroon 5, and Taylor Swift, among other artists.
In 2019, Serban’s mixes continued to make history in the charts. “Girls Like You” by Maroon 5 ft. Cardi B is tied for the longest top 10 run in Billboard chart’s archives. The track also held the #1 position on the Adult Contemporary chart for a record-breaking 36 consecutive weeks. Serban also mixed Ariana Grande’s single “7 Rings”, which spent 8 non-consecutive weeks atop the Hot 100 chart and became her longest running number one single to date. Taylor Swift’s Lover, mixed by Ghenea in its entirety, was the best-selling album of 2019 in the United States and globally.
Serban mixed 25 tracks off of the Billboard Hot 100 Songs of the Decade list that was released in December of 2019, including “Uptown Funk”, “Girls Like You”, “Shake It Off” and many other hits.
Most recently, Serban Ghenea mixed The Weeknd’s After Hours, which has spent 4 weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. One of the singles off of the album, “Blinding Lights”, is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
