Lucky Philip Dube (pronounced duu-beh; 3 August 1964 – 18 October 2007) was a South African reggae musician and Rastafarian. Considered to be one of the most important musicians in African music history. The South African born but globally revered reggae icon remains one of the most celebrated reggae legends of all time. His phenomenal record sales across the globe earned him the Best Selling African Musician AWARD at the 1996 WORLD MUSIC AWARDS. Lucky Dube, a decent reggae icon who used his voice to communicate the issues affecting South Africans and Africans in general to a global audience. He recorded 22 Albums in a 25-year period and was South Africa's as well as Africa's best selling reggae artiste of all time with millions of record sales to his CREDIT . Dube was murdered in the Johannesburg suburb of Rosettenville on the evening of 18 October 2007.
