Biography

Cass Dillon started his music career as a singer songwriter, playing local coffee shops on Long Island. He quickly gained the attention of local music industry professionals and landed his first publishing deal with Zomba Publishing (Universal Publishing) at 19 years old. He then caught the ear of Long Island legend, Billy Joel, and 2 years after his first publishing deal, he was asked to sing Billy’s last written and released song, “Christmas in Fallujah”. All the song’s proceeds went to Homes For Our Troops, donating over $500,000. The collaboration with Billy Joel lead Cass to hopping on tour with the Piano Man as a guest singer.

After many years of working with different producers, touring, and opening for acts like One Republic and Gavin DeGraw, Cass started to find that his true passion was writing, producing, and mixing, and staying musically creative without the desire for the artist spotlight. He spent years cutting his teeth, writing and producing tracks for TV and film, with countless placements, domestic and international. He collaborated on a hit TV theme song and worked with a number of Grammy winning producers, writers, and engineers. Once he refocused his energy as a creative behind the scenes and after years of honing this craft, Cass built a private recording studio, where he developed and produced local talent. Within 2 years of the studio opening, Cass discovered and developed a completely unknown artist who had never even stepped foot inside a recording studio and had no social media following, local Long Island artist Morgan Saint. Cass’s development and radio ready tracks with Morgan landed her a major label record deal with Epic Records, where Cass signed on to continue producing her records, which were released in 2017 and 2018. His production and mix of Morgan Saint’s cover of Cardi B’s “Thru Your Phone” was critically regarded as one of the best covers of 2018, being nominated for several awards as 2018’s best cover song. Cass also spent 2017-2018 touring with Morgan Saint as her Musical Director, opening up for Goldfrapp, Missio, LovelyTheBand, and playing massive festivals (Lollapalooza, Sundance Film Festival, Forecastle).

Cass is now off the road and back to producing and writing full time in his studio. He is currently developing and producing several independent artists and also producing and writing for other label artists as well. Cass’s latest project “Greydaze”, as a producer for Concord Records, is a producer is a very special project, taking Chester Bennington’s band “Greydaze” (pre - Linkin Park) and completely reproducing the recovered files into current alternative tracks to be released as Chester’s last released work.
