Biography

Born and raised in NYC, Sophie has been performing since the age of 13, training her voice, writing music and playing both the piano and guitar. Sophie’s soulful voice and R&B-infused rhythmic pop sound has proven that she is a musical force to be reckoned with.

Her latest single “Petty" explores a deeper side, pulling from her past experiences in the dating world. A complicated relationship, and ultimately a bad breakup, led Sophie to write this personal song that aims to empower young women in similar situations. When describing the motivation behind the single, Sophie said, “Petty is about the mind games we play to get attention from the people we like; from trying to make them jealous by kissing other people, to pushing them away on purpose and playing hard to get. Petty asks "Are you finally done being petty?" I wrote it as an anthem for everyone who has experienced this frustrating aspect of a relationship.”

Sophie first captured the attention of a Parkwood Entertainment executive while performing at Manhattan’s Bitter End, who then introduced her to her first mentor, Beyoncé where she signed her first development deal in 2015. She went on to open for Beyoncé’s Formation World Tour in Milan and Charlie Puth’s U.S. tour in 20 different cities. Since releasing her first self-titled EP in 2016, Sophie’s songs have amassed nearly 5 million streams on Spotify and counting. Her hit song “Girls Will Be Girls” was part of the soundtrack for comedy film Bad Moms featuring Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell.
