Eco$ystem’s story is transformative, inspiring and relatable. He grew up in a Sudanese community in inner city Melbourne which saw him living in housing commissions and doing all he could to get by. At the young age of 22, he went on tour with Juice WRLD on his last tour ever performing in 5000 person capacity rooms. Subsequently, he found himself sitting in the offices of Warner Music Australia who saw his star quality and have invested in him (via 66 Records). However, these achievements didn’t happen overnight. Eco has been a key artist in the bubbling underbelly of Melbourne’s rap scene which has formalized into the home grown label, “66 Records.” 66 Records was formed by a collective of young African artists built in the basement studio of government housing in Melbourne’s Collingwood. Their focus is putting out music by young artists of minority ethnicities. The label has built a grass roots following around Melbourne throwing parties which have gone from local popularity to international notoriety. Garnering attention from outlets including ABC TV, The Age, Aljazeera TV after being wrongly targeted by local law enforcement after one of their shows in Melbourne. Booking Eco$ystem taps in to a much wider and engaged community than you would for a single act on a lone journey. Eco$ystem wants to invite the world to see how his community truly exists, which is the story he tells in his music. Eco$ystem’s playful disposition belies his street-hardened world view.
Above all, he boasts effortless command over the audience and undeniable star charisma in Live. Eco looks beyond his circumstance and is set out to make something of himself and represent his community proud.
Eco$ystem has only just begun releasing music with proper infrastructure, rendering stream numbers not as telling compared to the command he has in Live, undeniable social engagement and sell out parties. His ability to command the audience during the Juice WRLD tour and perform to 5000 people without blinking and no backing track speaks for itself. Both Warner Music and WME share the same strong belief in what he’s doing and are part of the team facilitate a bright future ahead.
