He started his accolades back in 2007 as a top 20 finalist in the instrumental category for the 11th annual edition of Unisong’s International Songwriting Contest and was the featured artist on the “Pulse of the Planet” radio program.

Barnes has over 21.3 million streams on his Pandora station alone and is featured on a number of compilation albums.
Work on the music for the Docu-Drama “City of Dreams” with 2-time Academy Award Nominee Carol Connors won Barnes the Best Theme Song at the 2011 TCI Film Festival and the Composer of the Year at the 20th Los Angeles Music Awards. Most recently in 2023, Barnes was inducted into the Akademia Hall of Fame, bringing his accolade total to 35 awards and nominations.
