Biography

"Edgy guitars that chop down the biggest of music's established, formulaic trees, and vocals as soft and pleasant as a spring afternoon..." - Matt Driscoll, The Weekly Volcano

Powerful and moody, yet upbeat and optimistic, Another Perfect Crime was bred by Seattle’s rainy days and quirky artistic scene. Their interwoven vocal lines and aggressive tone draw comparisons to The Joy Formidable and Sunny Day Real Estate while their inventive writing and untraditional song structures recall Fugazi, Marnie Stern and Wild Flag.

Allegorical lyrics that describe moments of humility, honesty, and pride give us a peek into the band’s intellectual curiosity and irreverent nature. After a quick listen, it is obvious that Another Perfect Crime builds their songs in collaboration. Layered vocals, jagged guitar, melodic bass and dynamic drums; each instrument tells a story, and as a whole, the band writes a novel.

Another Perfect Crime's ethic has been shaped by Portland's Ladies Rock Camp, where the trio met. A band is more than a few people playing music together. It's a second home, an expressive outlet, and a way to connect to the community. The band's bassist, Natalie Walker, is the co-Founder of Rain City Rock Camp for Girls, a program dedicated to building positive self-esteem in girls and encouraging creative expression through music.
