Bio

Paul Butler is always looking forward, respectfully looking back. NME calls Butler, who hails from the Isle of Wight, “a maker of some damn fine albums.” He recorded Sunshine Hit Me, the 2002 debut his psych rock band The Bees, in his garden shed. After widespread acclaim and a Mercury Prize nomination, he produced their second record, 'Free The Bees', at Abbey Road. In his recordings with the Bees, Devendra Banhart, and Michael Kiwanuka, Butler has honed in on a sunny, open, and downright joyous production style.
